Visit to Joe Muenzen

On August 9, 2015, members visited past president Joe Muenzen in the convalescent home in which he is staying. Brother Joseph was moved and pleased by the visitation of the brothers, as indicated by the emails from his children and the photos. Congregavit nos in unum Christi amor.

Dear Jack, Matt, Bob and the 5 Holy Name Society gentlemen (whose

emails I don't have):

On behalf of my Family, I wanted to thank you for your continued

generosity to my Dad in coming out to visit him yesterday and for

your previous offering of a Mass in his honor earlier this year.  My

Dad had been looking forward to having the Holy Name Society

gentlemen out for many weeks.  Your visit provided a great emotional

booster shot as the residents and staff took notice of his standing

tall and and his animated spirits that morning.  My sisters, brother

and I were regaled by your stories as we too could also share some of

our favorites stories with folks who could appreciate Dad's "ways".

One could call it a mutual "roast" of Dad!

I also wanted to "Thank you", as my brother Greg put it so more

eloquently than I could, for your spirit of generosity to both my Mom

and Dad while they were members of St. Ann's parish.  They often

remarked that they felt like they were the oldest attending

parishioners and so I know that they took delight in your interest in

them as a couple.  My Mom would sit attentively at Dad's stories of

the Holy Name Society Meetings embellished, I am sure, by Dad's story

telling ways.

I wanted to share some pictures of the luncheon as taken by my

siblings.  Dad's delight is evident from these pictures!  I also have

included a picture of Dad's 8 of 10 grandchildren as taken by Mary who

arranged the luncheon yesterday.

Please feel free to circulate this email.

I hope that you are enjoying these waning days of Summer!

God bless.

Colette Muenzen
